You’ve learned how to keep the peace, be dependable, and show up for everyone else. But how often do your choices include you?
Breaking the Belonging Bargain™ is an 88-day conscious coaching experience with Jeannine L. Rashidi, AD, designed to help you recognize where you hide your feelings, needs, preferences, and voice in order to belong and begin choosing yourself.
The Belonging Bargain™ often begins in childhood, when we learn that staying connected or feeling safe requires hiding parts of ourselves. Over time, those patterns can shape what feels familiar, what we accept, and how we respond in relationships. Later experiences may reinforce the same bargain: keep the peace, need less, stay useful, and keep hiding. Recognizing these patterns does not make someone else’s harmful behavior your fault. It helps you understand what you learned to do to get through and where you can begin making choices that include you.
Whether you identify with the word “trauma” or “adverse life experiences,” there is room for your experience here. We’ll use my EDHIR® Method to help you digest and integrate those experiences without requiring you to retell the details or deliberately relive what happened. The work begins with honesty to yourself: acknowledging what you feel, understanding what your patterns have been protecting, and discovering who you are underneath the roles you’ve learned to play.Through my H.O.M.E.™ framework, guided reflection, and practical daily exercises, you’ll move through four phases:
H — Hide Less | Days 1–22
Recognize how you hide in everyday life, from keeping everyone happy to staying busy or dismissing your needs. Whether you learned these habits through everyday expectations, difficult experiences, or trauma, explore what they helped you protect, what they cost you now, and how to begin making room for yourself.
O — Obey Rules You Set | Days 23–44
Question the rules you learned through family expectations, pressure to fit in, difficult experiences, or trauma, such as “keep everyone happy,” “stay strong,” or “don’t need too much.” Explore which still serve you and practice choosing rules that honor what you believe, value, and need today.
M — Meet Yourself | Days 45–66
Reconnect with your feelings, needs, interests, values, playfulness, and desires. Build self-trust through small promises you can keep and choices that make room for you.
E — Express | Days 67–88
Begin by understanding what your yes, your no, and your needs mean to you. Notice when fear, habit, or the wish for approval shapes your answer. As you become clearer about yourself, explore how you want to express what matters to you, at your own pace. Create a personal belonging agreement to help you recognize old patterns and make choices that include you. This experience is for you if you know what everyone else wants but struggle to name your own feelings, needs, or desires. Whether you’ve been shaped by everyday expectations, difficult experiences, or trauma, you’ll have space to understand yourself beneath the roles you’ve learned to play and begin building trust in your own voice.
It’s time to begin breaking free from the bargain that keeps you hiding and choose you.
Choosing yourself starts when you stop hiding from yourself.
